[Tutorial] BISS screw temp replacement

I bought these bad boys at Shucks O’reilly, I bought these to go INSIDE the BISS screw “hole” instead of on the outside on PURPOSE. The reason I did this is because the if you put in on the outside the air would easily be able to force it out, so to secure it you would have to glue it.

Simple solution to this problem was to turn the cap upside down and force it into the “hole” where the BISS would normally go, I did this with a key quite easily. Being that it is made of silicone (which I suggest by the way) it will be able to fit into the" “hole” but expand outward enough to give you a amazing grip. I was able to get to where the screw would typically stop, this works so well in fact that I almost wonder if I want to send the BISS screw back! It even held 15 PSI of boos pressure with out coming off but, honestly… I wouldn’t do that because the last time my BISS fell out during normal driving my car felt like it hit fuel cut.

Anyway, that’s basically it. Turn it upside down and jam in. Here’s the pics!

Free upgraded wiper blades and nice clean car!

So my girlfriend’s mom wanted me to change her wiper blades. So I go to Shuck’s to get some, they suggest getting some Icons but they were sold out so they upgraded them to Evolutions since they were in stock.

Well they had the shorter blade for the windshield but not the longer one. So they order BOTH for me instead of just the one, I had taken the shorter one home. So today when I go in they get all confused and end up giving me the shorter one that came in (icon not upgraded) and the longer Evolution they ordered.

The funny part is they were buy one get one free. So for 12.99 I got 65 dollars in wiper blades. Morons…

I also washed my car and degreased my engine bay, it’s looking sexy… it REALLY needed it. The paint almost looked orange and now it’s back to its original red.

Today was a pretty good day.

[Tutorial] Brass shifter bushings.

This tutorial was made very easy for me by the product coming with instructions. HOWEVER…. I did make a video to help people who don’t quite understand what to look for.

[Tutorial] Home made reducer coupler.

If you don’t want to spend extra money on a reducer when you already have a coupler you can easily stretch your coupler to fit the side of the larger pipe!

I did this to attach my MAF to my intake pipe. It was about .5 inches too small which is a HUGE difference. To fix this little problem I did a nice two step process.

Step 1. Microwave the coupler for 1 minute.

Step 2. Curse while stretching the coupler over the pipe.

There you go, a simple way to save money! This will reduce the lifespan of the coupler though not terribly just don’t expect the expanded portion to last 10 years. It is a great temporary solution.

What a sad day. Sad smile

The purpose of this blog.

Hello, my name is Billy. I created this blog to document the progression of my DSM as well as a alternative way to sort my Youtube videos.

I got my Talon TSi AWD about a year and a half ago. I trade my 2000 Civic EX for, my intent at the time was to buy a car that would be faster/more fun to drive as well as having something I WOULD work on and learn with. Personally I see it as being a great trade though others might not... oh well.

When I got my DSM the only mod I had ever done was a cold air intake. I had also never done any maintenance on my own... even oil changes lol. As of now, I have done several maintenance related repairs, and a few performance upgrades.

I am going to be documenting any maintenance or upgrades I perform in detail as video tutorials and post them on youtube, I will link the videos here as well as a text write up of the dialog. I will also post events and meets I go to, or just something fun I did with my car.
